dreaded blood test

With Allison starting preschool the state requires her to have a blood test to see the levels of her lead. This was not an easy task for us. After multiple visits to the lab, with different parents, reading books and talking about it, practicing poking our finger with a needle, she still wouldn't let them prick her finger for some drops of blood. This resulted in a trip to the hospital, where there was more staff at the lab to help hold her down. Yes, it was horrible! I got to hold her on my lap while one held her arm and the other put the needle in her vein. There was a lot of screaming!! She wasn't very happy for about 2 minutes,
until daddy held her and told her she could have a sucker or ice cream.

I am all about bribery in situations like that. Good Job Dad!

She cracks me up!!!! Way to opt for the big needle in the arm, instead of the little finger prick! You go girl! Now you need to post about her shampooing the church carpets! Oh how I love her! :)

Test for lead? That seems like a mean thing to do to the mom...considering what they do to the kid!
