boxacus

David has been wanting to make an abacus for days. So last night he did it!
He calls his version a 'boxacus'
he is still trying to master multiplication using it.

Christopher on the other had has mastered his own way of using the rocking chair.

Halloween

We were dressed up for Halloween and Halloween parties, but I realized I never snapped an actual picture on Halloween night.  So they happily put on their costumes for a picture.
This little jack-o-lantern thought it was the greatest thing to dress up and walk around with a hat. He loved it.
 Our crayon
A ranger (inspired from a favorite book Ranger's Apprentice)
 a white horse
(Bridget had a parade at preschool and wouldn't you know it the battery died on the camera)

Leaves and more leaves

It was n week at school and Bridget came home sporting a new "nose".  It suits her!
We have had so many leaves. I forget how many this picture doesn't do this mountain of leaves justice!
They had tons of fun hiding, jumping and pretending they were leaf monsters.

a last trip to six flags

We had to take one last trip to Six Flags for "Fright Fest". I braved it and went alone with the kids.  We had a BLAST! The kids dressed up and were able to participate in some fun activities and programs along with riding a few rides.  David was a trooper, he wasn't able to ride any of the big rides, but still tried a few he hadn't ever been on.

It was a beautiful sunny day,
even getting our feet wet was okay.

A typical morning around our house.

A trip to the temple

I have spent the last three years working with these amazing girls.
What a blessing it has been to learn from them and strengthen our love of God together.
We had a nice walk to the Temple
the day before I was released.

bike rides

Someone figured out how to pick up his feet and move down the driveway

 and he loves it!!

He has a great teacher help him learn all the tricks to riding fast.

What fun we have waiting for the bus to bring the older kids home!

a trip to the cape

We had a fun weekend at the cape to see what a triathlon would be like. I was so inspired. What energy and excitement there was watching the participants move from swimming in the ocean, to biking to running. The kids loved playing on the beach. It was a windy cool morning, but we had hot chocolate and ring pops to keep us going.

Aaron loves the Cape Cod Creamery. They have a delicious peanut butter ice cream he dreams about, so we had to take a stop there.
and of course to the beach to do some swimming. It was so windy pieces of sand were stinging our skin. Bridget was curled up under her towel screaming,
while the rest of them were out boogie boarding.
And Christopher just sat and smiled.
We had such a fun time together.

End of August

We celebrated another birthday! Hooray for Dad!
 Started school

I was attempting to make a watermelon bus...it at least tasted good on our first day of school
Bridget and her dear friend on their first day of preschool

What a great start to a new school year!
