We were at Rite Aid this morning searching for a syringe but found ourselves oogling over all the Easter candy that was out. David saw these "funny" jelly beans so we gave them a try. We LOVE them. They have a nice bumpy, crunchy shell with a tangy burst of flavor. For a jelly bean I think they could be a new favorite. Plus they were on sale for a $1. 25, I better go get some for our Easter baskets. I am guessing this bag won't make it that long. Can you tell I have deprived myself of candy for too many months in 2007?

wacky wednesday gone too far
Yesterday at David's preschool was Wacky Wednesday. They asked each of the children to dress as wacky as they imagined. David went through a clown costume, a pair of pants with one leg that zipped off wearing a boot and a flip flop and a t-shirt with a snow man tie. He finally decided on normal clothes all turned inside out with his shirt on also backwards, wearing only one sock (inside out) and flip flops and his superman cap on the front. He later told me it would have been the best if his underwear would have been inside out also. He had a great day at preschool where everything was done backwards. He thought he looked so great he wouldn't change all day so he could let Dad see him. When we went to the park a cute mom asked me if he was having fun dressing himself. I just laughed, while David informed her that he was dressed that way because it was "Wacky Wednesday" (doesn't everyone know it is today?) We even had rectangle pieces of pizza for dinner, which he was sure was because it was "Wacky Wednesday". Not because I made it and was in too much of a hurry to make two round pizzas instead of one rectangle. Well he has gotten a bit into it and today he thinks he has to again dress wacky, but match a yellow pair of sunglasses.Tuesday, February 19, 2008
tagged twice, I guess I better do it
My friends Mikaela and Tiffani both tagged me the same day. (Guess I won't be tagging Tiffani and Annette back like I had originally thought)
10 years ago I was...
in the MTC trying to learn Greek and eating Grandma Sycamore bread and spray butter that my mom would send me, since in the three short weeks I had been there I was already missing it.
5 things on my to do list today
a. exercise
b. find a pair of red shoes I had gotten for Allison, placed away somewhere and hope they aren't too small
c. go to story time at the library
d. take David and Allison to the park and play (it has been so nice and sunny)
e. finish getting/making three birthday gifts for my trip to Utah next week
f. finish two loads of laundry
Things I would do if I became a billionaire...or millionaire
buy a house and fully furnish it, buy two new cars, make fun care packages for those in need and leave them on doorsteps and run, travel to Europe, travel with family, travel the world (first of course to see my sister in Australia)
5 places I have lived
a. West Lafayette, IN
b. Provo, UT we'll include Salt Lake City and Centerville
c. Athens, Thess, and other spots around Greece
d. Limmasol, Cyprus
e. Fairfax Station, VA
5 jobs I have had
a. Limited term lecturer at Purdue University
b. Office manager
c. 1st grade teacher
d. Floral delivery gal
e. Kara chocolate factory worker
Things most people don't know about me
I went to jail. (In Greece)
I don't have a shark protector under my bed like I was educated to have in college.
I love candy (wait, most of you know that about me) I love trying NEW candy or things that say NEW on the package (wait you probably know that too) especially if it involves chocolate and peanut butter.
I was stoned. (okay, not really but I did have rocks thrown at me while I was studying abroad in Israel)
Ben and Jerry's Phish Food is my favorite, I could eat it all in one sitting. I REALLY want to go to Vermont and take a tour of the factory. I love factory tours of anything.
Tag now you are it and get to answer these questions/statements.

wall art

We finally got around to putting up these fun letters (and boat. I can't forget the boat, David really loves the it.) my sister and her husband made David, which is part of their Australian Playscapes company. David was so excited to lay them out and figure out if he wanted them straight across or curved with the boat under or to the side. Thanks Jen Jen and Mr. Wiggle.

girl after my own heart
The other night I was at a Stake Enrichment meeting and Aaron was being the greatest dad, bathing the kids, playing with them and putting them to bed. I came home to him laughing at how much Allison is like me. This is why she is like me... at least the reason on Thursday night.

box

The other day something came in the mail and we had this box sitting in the living room. After great effort Allison found her way in and wouldn't get out. She just sat there smiling and laughing. David brought down the laundry baskets and soon we had ourselves a train and we were traveling all around the living room.
food
David has turned into a very picky eater over the last months. He is working on trying new foods (or some old foods he use to like.) His latest re-find are ramen noodles he calls 'daddy noodles'. He thinks they are best when they are really long and you can put a lot in your mouth at once and slurp them up.
Allison, on the other hand, is happy with almost anything you can giver her. If it is sweet, she thinks it is even better.

new find

We saw these the other day at Target and HAD to try them. I'm sure that comes as no surprise to most of you, new candy and me. The lady checking us out said they were amazing, fantastic and the better than the others. I can't go that far saying they were that spectacular. Allison really liked them, but then she will take any candy she can get. I think I still rather have the real thing, chocolate that is. It didn't seem quite right to be eating brownie batter the texture of a skittle. Of all the flavors in this bag I liked the vanilla best.
