Caught being a kid

I had been opening the mail and stepped in the other room to help Bridget. I heard Allison talking to herself having a funny conversation. I grabbed the camera and soon discovered Allison had found a new use for envelopes.

Early that morning David had been in his room for a while playing. He was concentrating so hard on moving pennies in small hot wheels he didn't even notice I was there. He had successfully moved all his piggy bank by hot wheels into Allison's room. I love it when they are so creative and into what they are doing they do not even realize they have an audience watching them.

While David was at school, Allison and I were playing with Bridget on the floor in the sun. We were having fun watching Bridget follow the shadows on the floor.

Soon it got quite and I turned to see what took Allison's attention and there she was fast asleep. I guess she was still recovering from being sick.

Tummy time

Bridget loves being on her tummy, especially if one of her favorite fans is down on their tummy playing with her. Allison is always there to make her smile, hand her a toy or lay beside her.

Little B

This little girl is growing so fast we can't believe it!

She loves to chew on her hands...which often times causes her to spit up.

or drool.

She is a happy baby that we can't imagine not part of our family!

Bridget

This little girl just makes us smile! She is such a joy.

Halloween

Halloween this year was really fun for the kids, especially for David. HE won THIS!

522 pieces of candy for guessing 500 pieces at our ward primary party. His face was classic. Eyes as big as saucers as he walked up to claim his prize. He was so excited he just kept staring at it.

The weather was nice Halloween night as they went around the neighborhood. 10 houses and about 40 pieces of candy. Just what we needed.

Barely holding the jar he has been great to share the candy with us all. Yesterday we were getting a piece and he was digging around and found this inside...

yes that is a jar of pickles in his hand. We had a laugh!

We then had to empty the jar and count and sort the rest of the candy. We still have 493 pieces and it has been a week. Not too bad with a candy junky like me in the house!

Trees and Leaves

Outside David's bedroom window was the the most gorgeous tree. We loved watching the leaves change from brilliant orange, to yellow and now they have fallen off. David would proudly tell anyone that he had the best view of the trees from his bedroom windows. He has loved having more trees, he may change his mind this week when he gets to start racking all of the leaves up.

Allison and I have been having lots of fun while David has been at school. I have loved playing and reading books with this sweet little girl. She makes me smile as she sings sweet little songs,

holds Bridget

Plays with her and makes her laugh in her swing. Or maybe scares her a bit!

We had fun making her Halloween fairy costume together too.

blizzards

We didn't know we would miss having a Dairy Queen right next to the church so much. I could drive by and read the sign for the new flavor of the month or it was often that Aaron would come home from work saying, "I know where we need to go tonight, you are going to love the new blizzard!" Not knowing the flavor of the month and HAVING to try it may be a good thing to my waist line, but oh how we miss those yummy treats.

The closest blizzards are in a mall that is a bit of a drive. We found these chapsticks and I guess they will have to do.

riding the bus

Once we moved the 20 minute drive to take David to school stopped. Instead a big school bus comes to get David right at our front door. He was so excited to try it the first day. I was a bit hesitant.

I started crying as he drove away.

He makes it a bit easier for me each day by stopping at the top of the stairs and waving, and then blowing kisses to us through the windows as he drives away. We love and miss this sweet boy while he is at school.

Moving in

After the much awaited day of finally getting the keys we went to the house to find that it was FREEZING cold and had no oil to start heating the house.

While waiting for the oil to be delivered we did what we could to keep warm and find things to do. Most of our belongs were piled floor to ceiling in the garage. We luckily found a rug and a few chairs and a fleece sheet.

Movies helped keep them busy while I attempted to take off wallpaper.

Finding acorns

While David was in school Allison and I had a few hours to use before driving back the 20 minutes to the hotel. We often went to the library or park. One day while exploring we found a walking path that use to be an old railroad. We took it for an adventure and discovered lots of acorns. Allison also found that she can carry 22 acorn tops in her pockets, has super running strength and

can take great pictures of clouds.

Sunday walk

After church one Sunday we stopped on our way back to the hotel to take a walk around this pond that was surrounded by beautiful trees. It was so nice to take a walk and search for so many different color leaves.

David was searching for an all yellow leaf that was bigger than his hand.

ICE CREAM

On campus they have a cool machine Aaron told me about...MOO BELLA! It was a must see for me. A few days after hearing about it we went to visit dad. All you do is put a cup in the little door and push a few buttons to get what ever flavor ice cream you would like. It then takes a minute to mix and make and out it comes your own individual serving of ICE CREAM. We all had some...four different kinds each what we like! YUMMY.

Ecotarium

One day when there was no school we took a trip to the Ecotarium. We had so much fun discovering how things worked. David was trying to send water waves over the shapes and see what reflections were made on the ground.

We took a train ride around the grounds to see a polar bear, red fox, river otters and an echoing tunnel.

They also had a playground outside and a huge sandbox. We were outside for over an hour. It rained and was chilly. David was the only one with a sweatshirt! The entire hour we were out 4 other kids came, they all had parkas and coats! Everyone looked at us like we were nuts, I think we miss all the parks we had in Washington.

David and Allison loved sticking their heads in and looking at the plants and roots.

What fun we had discovering. We successfully stayed away from the hotel room the entire day!
