Nine Months Old

Can't believe he has been out as long as he was in...these last nine months have sure passed more quickly!

He just keeps growing and getting happier and happier.  

What a little joy! His hair keeps standing up and many just want to feel how soft it is.

Those two little teeth have fascinated his sisters...they try to see them constantly or show everyone we see that he has teeth.  His clapping brings us smiles and encourages him to do it more and more.  

Paul Revere is Here!

For school, David's class had to research a historical figure from Massachusetts and be able to give a 1-2 minute talk as they dressed up like them.  They were part of a wax museum. It was so fun to see all these third graders dressed up and come to life as you stood in front of them.  David choose Paul Revere and as a family we were able learn more about him by going to his home, walking part of his midnight ride, and going to a visitor's center to learn more about the start of the Revolutionary War.
You can't hear him too well (and I didn't get it all)...there were lots of kids, but David was the only one with his memorized, which was pretty amazing. Even more amazing is that he changed what he had written that morning and added a few more details.

Our little guy

Last Friday we went to the Boston Children's Hospital to have Christopher looked at. It was a little crazy, being at the world's number one children's hospital. We were actually an anomaly, being from Massachusetts, since patients come from all over the world. Christopher met with a few doctors and residents to confirm his diagnosis of blue rubber bleb syndrome. It is extremely rare. One of his doctors is a world's expert on the syndrome and has only seen about 75 cases in his career. It causes malformations of the veins, which is why he has spots on his skin. It also is the reason for the growth in his shoulder. One complication is that the intestines can start to bleed due to sores. The good news is that none of this is generally life threatening if watched and treated as necessary. One woman in Massachusetts has it and is in her 60's right now. The bleeding in the intestines can be a problem so at some point he may have to have his intestines monitored. He'll likely be back in the next few months to have surgery on his shoulder to get rid of the tumor. It's quite a blessing to be here in Massachusetts since if we were anywhere else it might have taken a lot longer to get a proper diagnosis.
