pirate beach

After eating our Thanksgiving feast we headed to the beach again. My sister and her husband (visiting from Australia) helped me hide all kinds of treasures. Then Darran dressed up like a Pirate and awaited the little ones.

David and Garrett ready to come and search for buried treasure.

Darran told them a tale of his pirate relatives that lost treasure in the beach and he needed their help to find it.

While the tale was being told, a flock of seagulls came and started unburying the treasure for us. They only got away with some packs of m&ms. We did try chasing them down and trying to get them, but it was no use.

David loved finding all the treats and the flags that marked the spot.

All the pirates playing

Allison loved walking on the beach and playing with her cousins.

She wasn't fast enough and was left all alone.

She even enjoyed the waves crashing around her.

Thanksgiving

We had a fabulous meal all together with my family. The kids spent the morning making crafts. Apples with gumdrop feathers for turkeys. Toilet paper rolls turned into pilgrims and turkeys. We played a mean game of pin the tail on the turkey. It all made us hungry and the food all the better.

Allison couldn't wait. She had to have a snack. Yummy Panera bagels. How we miss them!

Legoland

We arrived at Legoland and David was jumping out of his seat. He was so excited to go on more rides.

David and I took on boat driving lessons, we weren't as good as his cousins who slid beside us and pulled in right in front of us.

David liked riding these horses so much he rode them a few times.

Driving lessons! Watch out! David hopefully will get better as he gets older. He hit one side then the other and only made it around once, while his cousin lapped him three times!

Allison had fun playing and watching David ride most of the rides.

Grandma and Grandpa enjoyed watching all the grandkids run from ride to ride too.

Allison loves dogs and this lego one was no exception.

Allison did a better job driving, granted her car was stationary.

We loved Legoland! It was a great day for all the family.

Disneyland

We spent a day at Disneyland and boy was it busy! We managed to run into a few people, besides Woody. I loved catching up with my old roommate Kerri and seeing her darling kids.

Allison and Aaron thought It's a Small World was the best ride of all. David however, loved Big Thunder Mountain. I think I found my roller coaster riding buddy!

David was having so much fun he was trying not to smile.

He loved seeing Mickey Mouse's house. The mailbox was super cool.

Crystal Cove State Park

Our week in California started out with a trip to the beach at sunset. We had so much fun walking along the waves. David got a bit carried away and was almost taken out with the tide. His clothes were drenched and he was miserable until he and his cousins found mounds of sand to jump off of (and his wet clothes were removed to his underwear).

The sunset was gorgeous.

little chairs

Grandpa and Grandma Deskins have two little chairs that Allison and David love (or fight over). David found ways to make them into trains and boats, sometimes letting Allison join him.

Leaves

David was helping Grandpa rake the leaves in the backyard. He came running in and asked me to come and jump in them. We had so much fun hiding in the leaves and making a mess again.

Hogle Zoo

Grandpa and Grandma Deskins spent the day with us at Hogle Zoo. We had so much fun playing at the park, riding the train and seeing all the animals. It was a beautiful day and an ice cream hit the spot.

David's favorite animal was the Giraffe.

I liked the cool white croc.

David the turtle ended up coming home with us.

football=fall

It isn't autumn until I have gone to a football game. I had been trying to talk Aaron into going to a local high school game, we never got to one. When my dad asked me if I would like to go to the BYU game with him I jumped at the opportunity. I guess growing up going to the games and going all through school, it has become a sign of Fall for me. We had such a fun time, wish I was there today for the big BYU vs. Utah game.

Grandpa Great

Every Sunday my family gets together for dinner. Grandpa Great came early and David snatched a book and ran for his lap. Allison was mad she didn't get there first.

Fire truck park

A trip to Utah wouldn't be complete for David if we didn't go to his favorite fire truck park. He was too busy running around and playing to want his photo. So Allison got them all this time around.
