David's favorite movie

This is currently David's favorite video. He walks around saying to himself, "I'm happy, I'm relaxed."

one day, two costume parties

It has been costume mania the last couple of days. Yesterday David had his costume party at preschool. Which was super fun, but he was more excited that we had to stop at the post office prior to preschool and he got to wear his costume into the post office and scare the people inline. (People are sure nice to react to a 3 year old.) Thursday we had a costume party at play group in the morning and in the afternoon another event at the library which let them wear costumes again.Dragon David, he's a nice one he tells us.

Jack-o-Allison.

At the playgroup party. Allison was cruising all around. Loving her freedom of walking.

All the kids that we could catch and keep sitting.

At the library party we watched a movie, read some books , paraded through the library and made GHOST GOGGLES. David thought these were pretty awesome. He wore them all afternoon, even though he said he couldn't see through them.

Allison's Supergirl costume came right before we left for the library. She was so excited this is the best picture I could catch of her as she was off and running.

pumpkin carving

Tonight Aaron took David to his school and carved his pumpkin. They had lots of fun. David even named his pumpkin, Heidi. Heidi is on his night stand with a battery powered candle lighting her up. David drifted to sleep staring at the pumpkin.

new trick

Allison has figured out how to stand up on her own. She'll get her legs up from crawling,
then move then closer to her hands and
she is off!

my helper

Allison brought over the hand vacuum today (quite an amazing thing to watch her try to carry it as she walked. She isn't strong enough, but somehow she managed). She kept handing it to me and grunting. I turned it on and she grabbed it from me and got to work.
It's hard work to lift it and walk at the same time. Good thing the table was close by.
She covered about half the floor. I think I will have to get her help everyday.

beautiful fall day

After a few gray and cool days, we had to visit the park today and enjoy the sunny 77 degree weather. It was gorgeous. Allison is toddling all over and kept trying to keep up with David. She is getting better every day. The leaves are all changing and falling. David and Allison loved to play in them. Allison kept trying to figure out why they would break when you squeezed them.

field trip

Friday David's preschool took a field trip to the pumpkin patch. Allison and I were able to go with him. We had a great time. After all the class was loaded on the hayride to go to the pumpkin patch they noticed the tire was flat. They tried to fix it with all of us on it, but we all had to get off. The kids went to the petting zoo instead. Allison thought the animals were the greatest. One of the pigs snouts got her hand and she just looked at it like why are you making my hand all wet. It was hilarious! The kids then went through a hay maze and up a pyramid of hay. When we finally got on the trailer and to the pumpkin patch the wind had picked up and it was pretty chilly. Despite the cold we had a great time.Choosing a pumpkin. He went for the smallest one he could find. I had to laugh, David's preschool is having all the dads come Monday night to carve the pumpkins and for a program. Good luck Aaron!
On the way to the top of the hay pyramid.

David and Allison together.

"Look at the goose Allison. It says quack quack." David told her as we were standing there.

Allison had so much fun, even with a pink nose!

A mouse house

David built a house out of pillows tonight and pocked out his head and said "squeak, squeak...I'm a little mouse, and this is my house."

nature hike

David and his friends went on a little nature hike .

Looking at some nature, a beetle.

Walking down the path to see the river.

who loves to brush

The other day I caught Allison doing her favorite thing...brushing her teeth. If she could she would carry her toothbrush around all day and chew on it. She reminds us every morning and night that she needs to brush her teeth. I hope this continues.

The box

The box has been a hit with them both this morning. They were both in playing with the food and and making meals.
Allison wanted to make sure I felt welcome and got some food.

Then she thought it was funny to shut David in.

I don't think he was too happy about it.

playing Freddy Meyer

We have this old moving box that we have originally made a puppet house out of. It has many uses, yesterday it was Fred Meyer, or "freddy meyers" as David calls it. Freddy's yesterday was a grocery/restaurant. He made me all sorts of great food and found all my "favorites", that were in stock or that he would let me have (I didn't have enough money for a banana he told me). The service window at Freddys.

Making snake cake. Yum.

Here's snake cake for you mom.

My full meal. Garlic, honey, soda, french fries, a taco and snake cake. Yum. He then took the cake away and said it wasn't healthy and I couldn't eat it. I guess he has noticed I haven't been eating sweets the last week.

taking steps

Last week when my parents were here Allison took her first steps. She has since stood up and walked across the living room and is up to 8 steps. Of course my camera batteries were dead and I missed them all. This morning (after finally remembering to buy batteries) Allison saw the camera and walked on over.
