Earth Day

David had learned about Earth Day atschool and was ready to see what he could do to make Earth a better place. He thought of an Earth Day project to complete in our neighborhood, cleaning a section along the road that had a lot of garbage and cans. We didn't get to it on Earth Day because we went to see what we could discover at our local museum that was making things out of recycled bottles. We first stopped to visit the river otters. David was kindly telling Allison all he know about them, or making it up.
We stopped to see some bullfrogs in the pond. Allison thought they were so funny because they didn't ribbet, but sounded more like a soft roaring lion. After a few minutes she was able to count 5 frogs and a tadpole.
When we got inside we went to make a terrarium and a rocket out of water bottles. They both decorated a rocket and were excited to launch it into space.
David counting down until blasting his off to the moon.
It went pretty high up there. He was sure it was the highest of the day!

Otters are my favorite animal. I am jealous!
