caught

The other night Aaron was sitting playing a game and something caught his attention. I looked up from my book and asked him, "What are you looking at?" His response...
"I just saw a mouse." I FREAKED out! He quickly put on shoes and rushed out the door to buy mouse traps, and I didn't move an inch from my chair. After setting the traps and not seeing anything for two days, I thought maybe he was seeing things. The next morning I was making breakfast and David said, "Hey mom, a brown catepillar ran behind you and into the pantry." I ask him, "Are you sure it was a catepillar, they aren't usually fast. Was it a mouse?" I open the pantry and start pulling a few things out. Before I get to far, Aaron comes downstairs and I have him finish the job. Sure enough he pulls out some cans and out runs a little mouse. Allison and I both aren't doing so well. We run upstairs, get ready and are off to the store to buy some more effective mouse traps. As we walk in the store, David is proudly announcing that we have a mouse in our house. We ran numerous errands that morning, each new place David announced we had a mouse in our house. He wanted to catch it and keep it as a pet. Nice!

Well a few days had passed and no luck with our traps. I had gotten some pointers at how smart these mice are and we had to trick them. So Aaron rigged up a plan with a few sticky sheet mouse traps (like fly paper but for a mouse) and ran them along the doorway from the kitchen to the dining room. The next morning I go down and let out a scream as a mouse is laying there. Aaron saved the day and disposed of the little guy, quickly...but I still caught this. Thanks catchmaster you made me a lot calmer person.

Traps are still out. We are hopeful that there aren't any more. We'll see.

Eeek! That's why I have a cat. Although, she would probably be freaking out along with the rest of us...she is such a fraidy cat!

Yes, mice are not fun. We only had them in our garage for about 24 hours before Christian disposed of them. I couldn't go out in the garage that whole time, nor for another couple weeks.

I totally get where you are coming from sista!!!! I hate when the little field mice come in looking for water at our house during the summer (one of the joys of country living!) I too am like you and get as far away from them as I can while Darran disposes of them! Had to laugh really hard at the furry caterpiller comment! :) How can you just not love that little man??? How is the rodent problem now?
