yellow belt

David is loving Tae Kwan Do and is working hard. He had another belt promotion.
He is on to yellow!

a new use for ketchup

That is an apple.

exercising with dad

One morning I came down to see the whole family exercising together.

They only lasted for a few minutes...well Bridget kept going with her yoga moves.

more snow

Can you say snow and lots of it?
We got a bunch this week and have loved it!

We have spent early morning hours to hours in the day, sledding, building tunnels, castles, slides and snowmen.

Or burying people alive!

I did make it out to enjoy a cup of hot chocolate and some tim tams!

a little bit of Bridget

From her sisters mouth "We are lucky to have Bridget, she is the funniest in our whole family." That she is. She can make us laugh and pull our hair out within minutes of each other. She should hold records for emptying a book shelf or a cabinet or making a mess of her brother or sisters room just after they cleaned it. She is pretty amazing at making messes. Above she found some lotion upstairs, made a nice trail of it down the stairs and all through the house. I guess she enjoyed it as a snack too.

The past week she has gotten into dressing up. Or at least wearing masks that change her voice as she runs around trying to scare us.

or three skirts, some fairy wings and shoes

You never know when you may need a little bling bling with your footie jammies

We love watching her discover new things

or old family favorites: rides in the laundry basket

Her cheesy smiles melt our hearts!

a warm enough day for a walk

Allison was dying to go for a walk with her new wagon. When it warmed up a bit, we finally went out. (Then it started to snow again a few days later)

We didn't get too far down the street before we needed a drink, or were tired of riding a bike and wanted to ride a scooter, or were ready for a snack.

It was fun while it lasted.

David's Taekwondo Belt Test

David had his first belt test. It wasn't as tough as Rexkwondo, but David did great.

play house

Growing up my neighbors had the greatest play house in their basement.
I have wanted to make one for my kids for months.
It is two pieces of plywood connected to make a right angle and then put up
against the corner of a room to make an 8 x 8 ft square room.
What a better time than Christmas....except that the time went to fast
and it isn't quite as finished as I wanted. We are having fun finishing it together though.
Here are pictures that my mom and sister have been waiting for...

The door. The outside is lavender.

Looking out one of the windows.

The inside wall with the door.

The other inside wall. It has a large window that is also a multi-use puppet theatre.

Outside the wall is a new little trampoline that they got also. It has been a great way to burn off some excess energy! (Curtains are coming)

One of the additions we are making is artwork for the walls.
David and Allison are each painting a picture on the wall and then they will be framed. David suggested we do this each year to see how they grow as artists. Great idea.
This is Allison's sunset over a bridge.

The kids have suggested a chalkboard or message board to be by a telephone on a little table. A lamp and bookshelf with books. I still haven't finished the mailbox.

They have had fun organizing dishes, baby beds and playing house. I have had fun watching, playing and remembering my childhood!

Christmas

We had a great Christmas!

Fun pjs

A wagon from Santa (that didn't have all the parts and couldn't be put together
until a week later)

A new vacuum for the new play house (pics to come)

A new message board with perfect size hands to write notes on.

A lego passenger train. The only thing he wanted!

A shopping cart, sadly not for her, but her dolls.

Trips to some Museums

Over the holidays we went to some science and kids museums. David and Allison thought the Knex exhibit was incredible, maybe because they got to build a windmill and take it with them for FREE. We saw all sorts of amusement park rides made out of knex. They really liked this large ferris wheel.

Allison tried her had at brushing teeth on a extra large model. Opening your mouth always helps this family concentrate.

This was their favorite...a large grasshopper on it's way to Australia!

Or some little mice .

sledding part 2

After we got swamped with snow we all had to go try out the new tube Allison got for Christmas and try some more sledding. Bridget thought it was great, until the snow went inside her gloves.

Allison loved spinning and sliding across the top of the snow.

David was more interested in building forts and tunnels and walls out of snow.
