Valentine's Day Surprise

Aaron came back into town Friday night and was home for Valentine's Day. We woke up for heart scones and all the heart stuff you can imagine. I had made them all pajamas. Allison was so excited to have what she calls her "pink princess dress" and David kept running around saying "arghh". David wanted Aaron to have matching ones, so they both have pirates.

It was fun to go to Playhouse Disney Live for Valentine's Day too. David was so excited he couldn't wait for the show to start. Allison got into it and was dancing and singing along with the Little Einsteins.

But her favorite came when Mickey Mouse and Minnie came out and did the hot dog dance. David just wants to go to Disneyland now and see them.

Lipstick

Allison has been known to find make up and feels free to put it on. At Christmas she was at my sister-in-laws house and found some foundation and came out to show us all with the bottom of her face covered. So when the other day she found lipstick and came to show me it was no surprise. I was impressed she got it on her lips, and only her lips. However, it is now sitting higher up so she can't reach it.

Home Depot Day

Before Aaron left he was able to take David to Home Depot to build his treasure. David had Clifford for the week from his preschool class. We had to outfit Clifford to go. Luckily we have plenty of orange aprons and Clifford went without getting dirty. Allison got in on the fun and her doll had an apron too.

David

Last week before Aaron left for his week long conference we were running errands and ran into Goodwill to drop some stuff off. David found these and was laughing hysterically. He told me he HAD to have them. His laugh convinced me.

He has had lots of fun making crazy faces and pretending to be a clown, an inspector, you name it!

rocket

The other day we were preparing for some little friends of Allison's to come over for a day of fun with the letter R. David thought it would be much more fun if we had a rocket to play in. Luckily we had a few boxes that hadn't made it to the recycling bin yet.

With a lot of duct tape a rocket was ready for all the friends to come and blast away.

It does go up at the top and looks rocketish with a slight slant. The kids are loving it and going on adventures to space each day. I just don't know how long I can handle it sitting in the middle of the room.

what a day

David had quite the day. He has been wanting to get his own library card for sometime and today was the day! He had to be able to write his first and last name. He has carried that card around to show everyone. I am afraid he will lose it, but he assures me he won't.

After checking out his books he was so excited, he said, "Mom, I need another picture with my books."

The afternoon was full of fun with a field trip to the children's museum with David's preschool. David was having so much fun all the pictures I got were a blur as he ran from one thing to the next. Allison came, found a baby and then went on to explore. See if you can find the doll in each picture.

craft challenge

My super creative friend Christy has inspired me! She has come up with the most amazing idea. Each month she has a craft challenge where you can sign up and have her send you a mystery package with various craft items. I signed up for the first months challenge. The envelope came the first week of January with a piece of green paper, some fabric with states, 3 rubber bands, some black DMC floss, and 5 brads. I looked at these items and thought what in the world can I make with these things. You are to use some of each item in the challenge. It was due today and this is what I came up with.

I took the piece of paper and cut it lengthwise and folded it to make a little book and pages. I connected them all together with the rubber band and three of the brads.

I used three segments of the fabric and ironed them on with wonder under to the paper. The other two brads I used with some of the DMC floss to make a closure.

I call it a photo thank you. I have not finished the writing of the note, but will shortly and be sending it on to my amazing mother-in-law who can create amazing things with fabric.
She sews incredible things for my children, that I am constantly getting compliments on and wanted to send her something with some pictures. Here it is.

One of the inside pages I sewed in with the remaining of the DMC floss. I used a collection of photos of the costumes and clothes that have been made for Allison and David to put in the book with spots for writing.

The last rubber bands were used to frame the last picture of Allison thrilled to be wearing her horse costume.
You can check out the other creations here and vote for them. Of course you should vote for mine! Hurry you only have until Jan 30.

robot

I was hearing some strange sounds and couldn't figure out what they were. Upon investigation I discovered a chattering Allison that had found her brother's Robot voice changer and was going crazy singing songs and telling herself stories.

a little bit of sunshine

The other day it was sunny and a whopping 50+ degrees. We had to take advantage and get out and enjoy the sunshine. We dashed to the park.

Someone wasn't too happy to leave!

New Year's Eve

After a yummy fondue and lots of cheese with the racquellette grill we played games and laughed and laughed. At midnight (okay really 10) we all ran out to bang pie pans and spoons.

Some of us got a bit carried away.

Christmas

Christmas morning we were up and opening bright and early, well we did get David to go back to sleep at 5 for another hour. When he ran out into the living room he was so excited for his yellow walkie talkies and a very cool wood truck.

Allison was excited with pink and princesses.

Here he comes to save the day...super CTR man is on his way.

Allison couldn't believe a pink doll and then her cousins were back. They had fun snuggling in a chair to watch cartoons, before we were off to Grandma and Grandpa Deskins.

David got this cool superman outfit from Uncle Tyler and has been running around saving people or shooting spiderwebs at them.
More presents to open, they loved it! They were ripping paper off as fast as they could. Thanks for all the fun toys

Christmas Eve

On Christmas Eve my brother's family came over to my parents and we had a yummy dinner and enjoyed time together. The kids were watching the Santa tracker to make sure he was heading towards us.
They each opened a new pair of pjs.

All the cousins had so much fun together!

Snow

We spent the last few weeks visiting family. We drove in between snow storms and were glad to have lots of snow to play in. David had a great time shoveling, sledding and stomping in the snow.
Allison got her chance to shovel too.
