Visit from family

We were so lucky to have Aaron's family come and visit for a week.
The week was full of reading books, visiting and going to see some sites.

At our visit to a butterfly conservatory, David tried and tried to have a butterfly land on him.

He took a break to watch the fish.

Saw that Grandpa could sit still and have a butterfly land on him.

and finally get one to come to him.

We visited an armory museum
Bridget tried her lot as a fierce knight

found she liked the castle dog better while Allison liked to ride the horses

Bridget watched these girls playing chess

saw an opportunity and ran with a pawn.

While Allison and David built themselves a throne.

We had fun searching for eggs
and then hiding them for the little girls. They came up with some clever hiding spots.

Minuteman State Park: cold and windy

fun trees to climb

or signs to climb

Freedom Trail

Cousins. We had so much fun with them!

Allison's Spring Concert

Allison had a spring concert at preschool last month, funny it snowed and was cold and not very springy. She did a great job and was so animated and excited about the songs they were singing. She was even more excited I think that Dad could make it!

April Fool's

David was planning and pranking for days up to April Fool's so I figured I had do something to trick him. So this is what we had for dinner.

They sat down and looked at it a minute. Bridget immediately started digging in and couldn't stop once she started. David hesitantly started, then said "I like having dessert first at dinner".

Dinner consisted of:
sugar cookie french fries and strawberry jam Ketchup
orange airhead carrots
chewy jolly rancher peas
pound cake and frosting grilled cheese sandwiches

smiles

This little smile brightens our day!
Along with her "right here" when asked where she is, waving at leaves as they blow past the window, and her constant "thank you" for all she is given.

high yellow

David was up again for another belt promotion last week in Tae Kwan Doe. He is so focused and loves going. It is amazing to see how much higher he can kick and how much stronger he is getting.
Part of his test was doing push ups.

Breaking a board with a front kick.

He was then asked to crouch down with two other kids as an adult student did a flying front kick.

His wife was sitting next to me assuring me he had done it in practice over 5 kids, and David wouldn't be smashed.

This is what happens when someone gets a hold of the camera and has been sitting over an hour.

some Sunday reading

Yesterday David suggested we all take some time to read by ourselves from the Bible. He made sure he had the most comfy spot!

babies

After frequently re-wrapping baby dolls in blankets, I was trying to teach Allison how to wrap them up by herself. She thought it would be more fun to be the one being wrapped up. Bridget had to join in.

They even tried to pretend to cry so they could get cuddled and have a nap in the crib. Too bad they didn't actually fall asleep!

function machine

David has been LOVING math. He loves to add things, figure out how things work and then tell his sisters about them. At school he has been learning about "function machines". Where on the paper it looks like you put a number in the top of a funnel and then it is added to a rule and you have to figure out the number. David decided to create his own.
Put in an 2

the machine is +10

out comes 12.

we love dolls

These girls love dolls, playing with each other, putting all the animals on the couch and then laughing hysterically.

Indiana

For vacation week in February the kids and I took a trip down memory lane and went to visit a dear friend to surprise her for her 40th birthday. We had a few glitches as we got there. One being the only person that knew we were coming was in the hospital. So we rented a car, got a hotel room and waited a night to see if she would get out. We were so happy when she was able to get out. We also waited a LONG time at the airport. We had fun making silly faces.

We stopped by our first apartment. Oh the memories.

When Jeannie got out of the hospital we were able to surprise Lisa and then stop and get the cake and balloons, which I couldn't get before LIsa made it down to the hospital in Indy.

We still were able to surprise her and have some fun and laughs.

One of the things we loved when were there going to school was Celery Bog. We took David often when we lived there over five years ago as it was across the street from our apartment.

He loved the leaves and walking on this bridge as a small boy.

He enjoyed it just as much, maybe even more as a 6 year old!

We had fun doing a treasure hunt and taking old paths we use to explore. Allison enjoyed it too!

We had fun chilling and swimming at the hotel, shopping for toys,

playing mini golf in the dark,

and visiting old friends!

David was so excited to see Logan, "his twin in a different family" as they were born the same day.

As for Bridget...she just LOVED the candy...and Hi Baby.

yellow belt

David is loving Tae Kwan Do and is working hard. He had another belt promotion.
He is on to yellow!

a new use for ketchup

That is an apple.

exercising with dad

One morning I came down to see the whole family exercising together.

They only lasted for a few minutes...well Bridget kept going with her yoga moves.
