bright and early

The other morning, with the windows being open, the birds chirping woke up David and Allison. They were determined to be out riding their bikes. After quickly eating and getting dressed they were in the backyard ready to go. We had borrowed a bike attachment from some friends and David REALLY wanted to try it out. 7am Saturday we were out for a ride.

Allison was so excited she ran out without her shoes on.

She is becoming a little biker and loves to pedal around the driveway.

Superheros wearing goggles

David and Allison love wearing goggles, especially if they are not swimming. They find many uses for them. One of the favorite is for being a super hero.
David had to show me his new trick. He can wiggle his eyebrows, or so he thought.

Allison had to join in the tricks too.

sugar cookies

Aaron and the kids were making sugar cookies the other day. What fun they all had (besides the mess).

Easter

David and Allison were so excited for church and to wear new Easter clothes. They had tried them on earlier in the week and were ready for church faster than any other Sunday.

Easter Egg Hunt

We had a fun Saturday full of Easter Egg hunts. The kids went from one to the other all day and then ended the day at Chuck E Cheese visiting the family of one of my old roommates. We had so much fun. By the second egg hunt Allison had figured out that it was well worth it to pick up the eggs. She won a little stuffed bunny and got TONS of candy.

David had a fun time too. Running around and finding eggs with money in them.

magic tricks

We spent a few too many hours together maybe, or got creative during breaks in conference. David thought he would entertain us all with some of his wowing magic tricks. Then everyone had to join in.

what you do when you have the chicken pox

We took David to the doctor the other day and were told he had chicken pox. Poor guy only had about 7, but he was contagious all spring break. So instead of playing with friends, he would just talk to them through the fence. He came running in and asked me for some water so he could have an "experience" like the friends next door. I finally figured out he wanted to do an experiment.

These are some of the things he used.

sleeping

It has become a game at our house to see who can sleep the craziest, or maybe it is a game for us parents to see how crazy we can catch them sleeping.

The other morning David came running down stairs and said, "mom, grab the camera you got to see how Allison is sleeping today." Up we ran and this is what we caught. He hasn't been much better the last few week either. I guess it feels good to have one leg off the bed. They both had to try it.

David has always loved to sleep with his hands by his head or behind it.

home and tired

We found Allison asleep this way this morning, I guess it really was a long drive back. We stopped halfway to have a good nights sleep, but it wasn't. We got into the hotel after two sleeping children awoke screaming for the final 30 minutes of the drive. Once they got back to sleep at 11 it seemed like all was going to be okay. Oh no, at 5 am the fire alarm went off at the hotel and we quickly exited the building, the first ones out. David was still half asleep screaming about a mini-water bottle that I forgot to bring out and it was going to be burned in the fire. He didn't care that his clothes and toys were in there, only this water bottle that we could easily go buy another one of at the gas station next door. The entire time we were waiting outside this is all we heard about. Allison sat chattering about the fire trucks and fireman. We did get back to sleep for a little bit before we finished the journey home.
We are glad to be home.

fun trip to Utah

We had lots of fun while we were visiting family. A trip to Chuck E Cheese.

With car rides,

games and tokens,

and pizza to finish it off.

While Aaron was at his conference during the day we played, but were able to visit in the evenings. One night we hit the swimming pool.

David and Allison have been dying to go to build a bear. It was so much fun. They loved ALL the choices, okay it took them awhile to decide what they wanted to make. That's the fun of it, right? They had such fun pushing the pedals to stuff them,

and washing them. David went through five outfits before he decided on pajamas for his monkey so they could sleep together. He ran off to fast I wasn't even able to catch a picture with them toagether. They are having so much fun playing with them.

Another highlight was golfing with Garrett. David was so excited to have his cousin to play with, too bad he feel asleep after a few hours of playing and got sick. Sorry Gill, more time in a few weeks.

David and Allison found some of Grandma's curlers and tried them out in their hair. It provided a bit of a laugh.

Thanks for all the fun fam! We can't wait to see you again soon.

Baby number 3 to come

Today we found out another girl is on her way. We are so excited for the end of July.

Profile shot with her hand at the bottom left corner.

Happy St. Patrick's Day!

David has been very excited about St. Patrick's Day. He made a leprechaun trap for preschool and decided we needed to figure out a way to catch one at our house last night. He decided that the windows and certain areas needed to have lots of sticky tape (like a sticky mouse trap) that the leprechaun would run over and get stuck on. He carefully put tape with a gold coin around the house. He was up numerous times in the night hoping to catch one. When he got up, he found the coins missing and the tape in messes where the leprechaun had got stuck and freed himself. On some he even found parts of the leprechaun's shirt.

The leprechaun left a note for David and Allison to follow a gold path that led to their own treasure. David was sure he was going to catch one and ask the leprechaun where his pot of gold was and get rich. The pat led down stairs. When we got to the bottom of the stairs David turns to me and says, "mom I told you leprechauns are naughty, do you see this mess they made."

The path led to a green pot with green shamrock glasses and a green sticky lizard.

David was a bit disappointed that all he found were scraps of the shirt the leprechaun left, but he still has he trap at preschool to catch one.

Hope you enjoy something green today. Our green milk this morning was fabulous!

playing with friends

The other day we had some friends over. They LOVE to dress up when they are all together. Allison would have nothing to do with it this day, she preferred to sit and watch them all. Her little friend decided to put on David's spiderman costume that was WAY to big for her. Allison did help her find a cape. The boys had all the other capes in various uses, so she used one of the dress-up aprons. It worked great. Allison thought her friend was so funny running around and would just sit and watch spider-woman trip and fall, jump up to go save something else, and trip on the legs of the outfit again.

Once there was a snowman

Allison has a favorite song...Once there was a Snowman. We hear it A LOT! She listens to it on repeat at night (the last week or so) and goes around singing how snowmen melt small in the sun. Today she added her own variation to the end of how the snowman melts. What a doll.

pillow fun

The pillows on our bed provide hours of entertainment for David and Allison. They have made boats, houses, trampolines and various other things. After pushing them off to one side they figured out they could slide down the edge of the bed and have a soft landing.

They tried doing flips and jumps, or pulling each other up.

Then they landed and started singing.

cleaning up

Dinner is such a fun time in our house recently, yea right. If we can keep the kids in their seats long enough to get food down their throats it seems like a miracle.

On one occasion when we were all enjoying dinner, Allison spilled and started cleaning up her mess. She was very thorough.

a mishap with stickers

After church today David and Allison found some stickers and had some fun. They were seeing who could get the most on their face. They were excited to come and show me and see if I would laugh. How could you not.

a new bed

A week or so ago Allison left her refuge of a crib to make a big move
She loves it and does a great job staying in!
