Happy St. Patrick's Day!

David has been very excited about St. Patrick's Day. He made a leprechaun trap for preschool and decided we needed to figure out a way to catch one at our house last night. He decided that the windows and certain areas needed to have lots of sticky tape (like a sticky mouse trap) that the leprechaun would run over and get stuck on. He carefully put tape with a gold coin around the house. He was up numerous times in the night hoping to catch one. When he got up, he found the coins missing and the tape in messes where the leprechaun had got stuck and freed himself. On some he even found parts of the leprechaun's shirt.

The leprechaun left a note for David and Allison to follow a gold path that led to their own treasure. David was sure he was going to catch one and ask the leprechaun where his pot of gold was and get rich. The pat led down stairs. When we got to the bottom of the stairs David turns to me and says, "mom I told you leprechauns are naughty, do you see this mess they made."

The path led to a green pot with green shamrock glasses and a green sticky lizard.

David was a bit disappointed that all he found were scraps of the shirt the leprechaun left, but he still has he trap at preschool to catch one.

Hope you enjoy something green today. Our green milk this morning was fabulous!

That's a great idea! I might have to add that to our celebrations!
