family

We had such a great time catching up with Cody and doing things all together. Thanks for all the fun times and laughs. David and Allison are already to come back, and so are we!

family reunion

While we were visiting Aaron's family, we also met up with all of my cousins and families. It was fun to see them and catch up. David had fun playing with the cousins his age. They all had squirt guns and were running around soaking everyone. David loved it until he got it straight in the eye. Allison just kept chasing them trying to get a squirt gun from them.

my brother's farm

My brother has become a farmer in his extra time. So while we were there we had to go and get a lesson on animals and feeding. The first stop was gathering eggs. David couldn't believe that chickens could have brown eggs. I guess we need to buy some fresh eggs more often.

Emily and Garrett had to show us their chickens and how to catch them. They were amazing. Garrett was so nice to teach Allison how to pet the chicken and hold it. David wasn't so excited about the talons. "They keep scratching me."

David thought Uncle Rico was amazing as he mixed a huge bucket of milk for the calves. He even used a cool drill to mix it.

Those calves sure drink milk fast.

We then went out to feed the big cows. But we had to find them first.

Here they come.

Allison tried feeding the goats out of her hand. She wasn't too scared. David was mad they wouldn't eat his one piece of corn.

The kids found a fun toy to crawl through. Farms are the greatest.

Attempting to pet the goat, but Allison had to stay close to dad. We loved the farm. Thanks for letting us come Jeff and Jodi.

home depot

David LOVES Home Depot. It could be because grandpa works there or maybe he is just really handy. I think it is because grandpa. He now is the proud owner of a pen, a very cool car and hard hat. Thanks grandpa.

the frontrunner

We were able to ride the new frontrunner, the commuter train, while we were in Utah. David was so excited to sit on the upper seats and look out the window. We went one stop for a whopping $25, for five tickets. The ride lasted about 30 minutes round trip. It was quite the experience.

Allison loved running up and down the row of seats,

and getting candy from grandma.

Dino park

We went to this cool Dinosaur Park and had so much fun! There were playgrounds, slides and dinosaurs that roared.

David found the real dinosaurs and was able to pet them. He couldn't believe they had bunnies as old as dinosaurs.

We also found the dangerous dinos.

We had some fun with all the photo ops.

spending time with Cody

Cody hadn't seen Allison or Addy and left when David was only two. He spent some time playing with them and teaching David how to be cool.

Uncle Cody's home!

We drove into town just in time to see Uncle Cody come home from his mission. We all got to wear these fun hats. We also got to meet cousin Addy for the first time.

Here he is. Welcome home!

Father's Day

David made a crown for Aaron so he could be King of the Day. Aaron wore it all morning, then David decided he was going to be a dad and wear the crown instead. We love you Daddy, thanks for all you do to make us happy.

fire fighters in the house

David has this little wooden fire truck that he has always sat on and pushed himself around since he was about 1. Well he has taught Allison to do the same thing. This morning I found them coming to save me in a fire, sirens blaring and all.

David has moved on to a bigger fire truck and pushes the buttons to add additional noise to his already screeching siren voice.

Luckily they saved me just before the bed burst into flames all around me. (At least that is what David told me.)

superheros

The other day I was watching some friends kids and they decided to dress up and save the girls from monsters, dragons and dinosaurs. David and his friend ran around and frightened away all the monsters under the table, the bed and the dragons in the basement. Allison was too busy trying to ransack their diaper bag and get away with their snacks and drinks.

clowning around

We recently had an animal circus for playgroup. The kids all had their faces painted, popcorn, balloons and all sorts of fun. David loved the pile of straws he was given and told to create something. With some help he made a bow tie to complete his clown look.

we are thankful for ears

David made these ears in church yesterday and was so excited about his ears. We have sat and listened to the birds, the dogs barking and the wind blowing. He informs me it is the big ears that help him to hear it so much better.

Allison was just excited to run after David and try and knock his ears off.

camping...the good, the bad, the UGLY

Well we took our first camping trip alone as a family over the weekend. It was quite the adventure. David had wanted us to go back to the same spot he and Aaron had gone for the Father and Son campout, so Allison and I could see how cool it was. We had to stop for a photo of the train bridge we went under (that I had heard about for weeks). It was pretty cool.

As soon as the tent was up, (which was quite an ordeal) it was time to go swimming in the river. It ended up being chilly so they wore life jackets and threw rocks in the river. Allison was just happy to have cups to play with and to get water out of the jug and dump it down her front.

Aaron just took it all in and had a good laugh.

We had fun cooking tinfoil dinners, once the fire was started, and gave an attempt to pancakes in the morning (David told my mom and dad that they really weren't very good. Thanks) We didn't have the best night sleep, in fact Allison screamed so much she and I slept in the car. Will we go again? Not until we practice a few times in the comfort of our backyard. We definitely have memories!
